Participation in this project benefits the coalitions and surrounding communities in several ways:
They gain access to
trained, knowledgeable and motivated youth to work on local prevention
efforts.
They can identify a
critical policy area (school, law enforcement, marketing) in their
community and receive resources to improve that policy.
Through this
partnership the group will succeed in reducing some of the major risk
factors associated with alcohol and drug use by changing access patterns
and youth beliefs regarding community norms that allow use.
